The Orthotic and Prosthetic (O&P) Alliance has released a statement acknowledging the Board of Certification/Accreditation’s (BOC) decision to withdraw from the Alliance as it works to address matters with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Formed in 2006 by AOPA, the Academy, NAAOP and ABC, the O&P Alliance was established to provide a unified voice on issues affecting the quality of O&P care, practitioner qualifications, coverage and reimbursement and education and research. BOC joined the Alliance in 2010 and has been an active participant for the past 15 years.
In its statement, the Alliance recognized BOC's past contributions and affirmed that the four remaining organizations in the coalition remain unified and committed to continuing their advocacy on behalf of the O&P profession and the patients they serve.
