Central Fabrication

Our Central Fabrication accreditation program is geared towards businesses that custom fabricate orthotic, prosthetic and/or pedorthic items/devices for external patient care providers. 

The application approval process takes up to two weeks and we will notify you as soon as your facility has been approved for an onsite survey. Your survey can occur as soon as 24 hours after your application has been processed. All first-time applicants will be surveyed within 90 days of application approval.

  • Preparation – Review the ABC Central Fabrication Accreditation Guide and make sure your facility is compliant with both the basic eligibility criteria and standards. 
  • Application – Once you’re confident that your facility is compliant, submit your application and fees. We will review and approve your application and a surveyor will contact you to schedule your onsite survey.
  • Survey – An official ABC accreditation surveyor will conduct an onsite survey to determine your compliance with the ABC standards. This is your opportunity to get consultative feedback about your business operations, so be sure to ask questions and take notes.
  • Decision – After your survey, we will email and mail your accreditation decision within four weeks.
  • Maintaining Accreditation – Accreditation is ongoing, and you will need to renew every five years. To remain in good standing, be sure to inform us of any location, personnel or service changes, pay your annual fees and renew your accreditation on time.

Your accreditation is valid for up to five years. To maintain your accreditation, you will need to apply for renewal and be resurveyed.
