Prosthetic Domain 1 - Assessment
The Prosthetic Assistant Exam Test Content Outline below is broken down by domain; each domain section indicates the percentage of emphasis that the elements of practice in that domain receives on the exams. For each Practice Domain listed on the Test Content Outline, you should plan on familiarizing yourself with clinical, technical or general practice information related to that domain.
Assessment — 20%
- Review patient’s prescription, referral, chart notes, and medical and device history.
- Evaluate patient's needs and concerns to determine approporiate care.
- Evaluate existing device and fit, as applicable.
- Consult with supervising prosthetist about patient’s condition to understand the treatment plan and goals.
- Document assessment findings using established documentation requirements.
