Certification Expiration Date Moving to March 31

We’re excited to share an important update to the Continuing Education (CE) cycle for all credential holders. With this update, CE expiration dates will transition from December 31 to March 31, aligning all future CE cycles to an April 1 to March 31 schedule.

This change – driven by feedback from the profession – provides additional time following the busy year-end and holiday season to complete CEUs, making the cycle more manageable for many credential holders.

What This Means for You

  • If your credential expires December 31, 2025: You must still complete all CE requirements by that date. Your next CE cycle will begin January 1, 2026, and your new certificate will display the new March 31, 2031 expiration date. The certificate for your subsequent CE cycles will display the April 1- March 31 cycle.

  • If your credential does not expire in 2025: Your MY ABC account and certification expiration date will be updated to the new March 31 date. A new certificate reflecting that change will be mailed to you by the end of spring 2026. Until you receive your updated certificate, your current expiration date remains in effect.

Implementation Timeline

This change is effective immediately. Newly certified individuals began receiving certificates with the March 31 expiration date this fall. All existing credential holders will receive updated certificates by the end of spring 2026. Please ensure your mailing address is current in your MY ABC account.
