Together, the two organizations will:

  • Provide patient education materials, including First Step and Your New Journey to ABC accredited facilities;
  • Provide access to the Amputee Coalition's Prosthetist Finder online tool to all  ABC certified prosthetists;
  • Launch AC's Promoting Amputee Life Skills (PALS) program to ABC accredited facilities to support patient recovery and readjustment; and
  • Launch a Well Being program for ABC accredited facility owners that promotes patient-centered care.
More than 28 million Americans are at risk for amputation.

"We are excited about this partnership because it allows us to better serve the two million Americans living with limb loss and limb difference," said Mary Richards, Amputee Coalition CEO.  "More than 28 million Americans are at risk for amputation, and working with an organization like ABC allows us to educate providers, patients, and families in a whole new way," she added.

"ABC is excited for the opportunity to strengthen practitioner-patient relationships through these new programs from the Amputee Coalition. Our constituents will find these new programs extremely useful in providing real world tools for patient-centered care," said Cathy Carter, ABC Executive Director.

ABC will be recognized as a diamond-level national sponsor and also will be a member of the Amputee Coalition's Corporate Council.
