This July is the So Every BODY Can Move (SEBCM) 3rd Annual 28x28 Mobility Challenge—a nationwide effort that brings together advocates, clinicians, industry leaders, athletes, allies, and families to raise awareness and advance equitable access to prosthetic and orthotic care for physical activity.
The challenge is simple: move for 28 minutes a day for 28 days, from July 1–28, during Disability Pride Month. Participants can walk, run, bike, swim, dance, climb or choose any form of movement that works for them—every minute counts. Last year, more than 1,300 participants came together in support of the campaign, and this year SEBCM hopes to reach 1,500 participants and raise $175,000 to help fuel advocacy efforts in 28 states by the 2028 Paralympics.
Registration is now open. Participate as an individual or create or join a team. There is still plenty of time to get involved, set a goal, and help build momentum for this year’s challenge before it begins on July 1.
Documentary World Premiere
ABC is proud to be among the supporters of the upcoming SEBCM documentary, which will shine a light on the movement for equitable access to mobility care and the real-life impact of this work. At the end of the challenge, the documentary will have its virtual world premiere on July 26, giving participants and supporters an opportunity to celebrate the month’s momentum and see the broader story behind the cause. A documentary teaser is already available through SEBCM’s YouTube channel.
We encourage you to take part, spread the word, and support this important effort. Whether you register, join a team, donate, or help amplify the message, your participation can help advance access, awareness, and advocacy across the country.
Why the Movement Matters
SEBCM is working to address a long-standing access issue: many public and private insurance plans still deny coverage for prosthetic and orthotic care needed for physical activity, often labeling it “not medically necessary.” The initiative is focused on changing that through grassroots advocacy and state-by-state legislative reform so more people can access the care they need to live active, independent lives.Subscribe to ABC CredCast
