Welcome, Kaitlin
We are pleased to welcome Kaitlin Rivest, CPO, to the ABC Board of Directors. With a decade of clinical experience and a passion for elevating patient care and professional education, Rivest brings a strong blend of clinical expertise, leadership, and commitment to advancing the OP&P profession.
Rivest currently serves as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist and Assistant Residency Director at Boston Orthotics and Prosthetics/OrthoPediatrics Specialty Bracing, where she provides pediatric-focused orthotic and prosthetic care at Boston Children’s Hospital. Her clinical work spans a diverse range of diagnoses, including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, spinal muscular atrophy, muscular dystrophy, and congenital or traumatic limb loss.
In addition to her clinical practice, Rivest is highly committed to developing the next generation of clinicians. She has served as a resident mentor since 2018 and now helps lead the Boston O&P Residency Program, overseeing resident hiring, onboarding, mentorship, and compliance across all residency locations nationwide.
Rivest’s dedication to professional excellence extends beyond the clinic. She is an ABC Prosthetic and Orthotic CPM Examiner, a member of the ABC Scope of Practice Committee, and serves on the Orthotic Exam Development Committee. She is also active in research, education, and standards development—publishing case studies, lecturing at O&P graduate programs, and contributing to multidisciplinary teams focused on improving pediatric orthotic and prosthetic care.
Rivest holds a Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Sacred Heart University, where she was a four-year Division I rowing coxswain.
We are very excited to welcome Kaitlin to the ABC Board of Directors and look forward to the expertise, energy, and insight she will bring to our work.
