The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, Inc. (ABC) announces the release of a new Facility Accreditation Guide. The Facility Accreditation Guide was updated to provide ABC accredited facilities with clearer and more concise direction for acquiring and maintaining an ABC accreditation. The new guide provides an overview of ABC’s accreditation standards in plain language, making the information much more comprehensive and reader friendly.
ABC believes in maintaining the highest standards of patient care and ethical behavior. The new Facility Accreditation Guide will help facilities better understand how to more effectively uphold those standards and in turn improve the quality of the patient care they provide.
“Revising this guide brings us one step closer to making the facility accreditation process more efficient and effective,” says Chrissy Heckenberg, ABC’s Director of Facility Accreditation. “We want to assist facilities in understanding the whole process and address many of the common questions.”
Heckenberg, along with the Facility Accreditation Team, hope that this new guide and other important changes in the facility accreditation process will bring additional value to each facility’s experience with ABC. A copy of the Facility Accreditation Guide is available for download at ABC’s website.
