This election season carries special meaning for the orthotic, prosthetic and pedorthic profession, as voting is underway that may lead to integration of The Board for Certification in Pedorthics (BCP) into The American Board for Certification (ABC).
Ballots have been mailed to all Certified Pedorthists and we encourage C.Peds to bring about the joining of our organizations by approving this measure. A minimum quorum is necessary for the results to be official, and ABC certified practitioners are asked to reach out to pedorthic colleagues and support their participation. Voting is open to BCP Certified Pedorthists through November 30th and final results will be available in early December.

The impetus to join together as one organization is rooted in the mission and goals of both ABC and the BCP. Each organization seeks to promote proper and professional clinical standards, encourage education, and improve patient outcomes. Together we will form a credentialing organization united in contemporary practice through shared patient and professional responsibilities, and will be recognized as such in pending federal regulations.
We look forward to continuing to serve as the leading standard setting organization for our entire profession.
