If you currently bill Medicare for O&P services, BIPA (the Benefits Improvement and Protection Act of 2000) may have a profound impact on you. According to the Act, only “Qualified Practitioners” and “Qualified Suppliers” can provide and fit prosthetic devices and certain custom-fabricated orthotic devices to Medicare Patients.
