Effective April 1, 2003, the ABC will begin surveying for compliance with HIPAA requirements. We will be conducting a workshop at all O&P annual meetings for any interested facilities. In ABC's new Facility Accreditation manual (available as a "pdf" file under facility accredtiation on the ABC website, www.abcop.org), section OR.5 addresses HIPAA compliance in an O&P patient care facility.
