If you have gone online to find courses appropriate for your continuing education needs, chances are that you benefitted from the volunteer time put in by Dennis Janisse. 

As a long-time member of the Continuing Education Committee, Dennis reviews course provider applications for content, studies usage trends and data and serves as the committee's liaison in his capacity on the Board of Directors.  

"Dennis understands the profession very well – both the clinical side and the continuing education side," says Jim Wynne, CPO, FAAOP, ABC board president. "His history and leadership truly enhances the relationship we've built among many orthotic, prosthetic and pedorthic professionals."

Dennis began volunteering after ABC and BCP merged in 2007, and he has seen value in the collaboration between different ​disciplines within one profession. "We're making some really good changes in continuing education that are helping the profession grow and mature," he offers when asked about the benefits of volunteering.

Dennis fits his volunteer work neatly into his busy schedule, praising the ABC staff for running an efficient continuing education approval program. He enjoys being part of an organization that "ensures its certifees comply with a standardized continuing competency requirement."

"The ABC Board is very professional, and I'm so proud to be a part of it," he says.
